Notice all the fold-out seats. These are put out along the canal banks. You can bring along your own food and drink but most purchase food etc from the nearby cafes. Many sit there for hours, talking, reading and of course the crucial Sunday sleep in the sun. We were to busy to do the sleep part on this particular Sunday. All the time there are boats cruising up and down the canal. Many are set up so you can have a wine and lunch on them while you view the sights of Berlin.
