Travelling on the Eurostar at high speed from Paris to London was a worthwhile experience. We had to have our passports checked as we were crossing back into the UK. Travelling through Europe we weren't checked after our entry into Berlin. When we went under the English Channel we were disappointed that everything became dark. We were expecting to see fish believing we would be travelling through a glass tunnel similar to Kelly Tarlton in Auckland. Hehehe!!!

Eurostar from Paris to London

No Hunchback but two Kiwis
Bridget being a good Catholic girl took some time out to reflect in the magnicient setting of Notre Dame Cathedral. This was one of the rare places that you are not charged to enter. This place is respected as an active place of worship rather than the hiding place of the Hunchback of Notre Dame - Quasi Modo!!
Busking in the rain
Climbing the Eiffel Tower
We thought we would demonstrate the attitude that all our RIS students are developing and that is one of Courage and Commitment, therefore we decided to climb the stairs to the top of the Eiffel Tower rather than take the lift. This was indeed a huge challenge for Bridget who is somewhat afraid of heights. The stairs are caged in and the views at the top are amazing even on a wet day. Bridget was awarded an 'Outstanding Achievement Badge' which I happened to have in my pocket.
WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!!
Sunday night in Paris was full of excitement and wonderful experiences. First our dinner up the Eiffel Tower with spectacular views. Then a canal cruise during which time we were able to see a light display on the Tower. After the cruise we were taken to a theatre to view the show which started at 11.30 pm. The show was spectacular and classie. The customs, the dancing, the dancers and acrobats were simply amazing. The show finished at 1.30 am and we arrived back to our hotel at 2.00am. WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!!!
This could only be in Paris
Along the main shopping streets of Paris, situated between fashion stores such like Zara and Gucci you will find very large shops displaying and selling cars. The displays are of high quality with flashing lazer lights and pumping music. You can see Bridget and I have very different tastes in cars. I thought my choice would be a great exchange for our school van.
Welcome to the back streets of Paris
All of our hotels have been 3 Star so no one famous has shared a lift with us. However the rooms are clear and tidy... before we arrive and they have been very handy to some of the attractions, to cafes and to the underground metro which we have often used. Often the stair case to our room have been of the highest quality, like this one made of crystals.......Yeah Right!!!! This was a staircase in another of Bridget's favourite shops
